Dr. Ozguz has been working in the semiconductor technology, packaging, microelectronics manufacturing and nanotechnology fields since 1979. He led pioneering development efforts in chip-to-chip optical interconnects, 3D packaging and integration for heterogeneous systems.  He has extensive R&D and project management experience in the design and implementation of microelectronic, nanoelectronic and optoelectronic systems including fabrication technologies, process design and integration, establishment of R&D centers, facility operations and technology transfer. 

Dr. Ozguz authored over 100 journal articles, 30 peer reviewed conference publications, many invited conference talks, 5 book chapters, 22 patents and numerous patent applications.

Dr Ozguz collaborated with various academic, federal and commercial institutions. Dr Ozguz  was in the founding team of eight high-tech start-ups and spin-offs at USA and Turkey, and served in their board. He contributed to the technical due diligence of several high-tech companies during the fund raising and investment stage. Dr. Özgüz is the general manager of the Boğaziçi University Technology Transfer Office since 2021.  He is also working as a mentor and technical adviser for micro and nano technologies, technology transfer and technology due-diligence. He is in the advisory board of several deep tech investment funds.

He is a senior member of IEEE, International  Association of  Electrical and Electronic Engineers.    Dr Ozguz served as the Country Delegate at the EU Directorate of Research, Nanotechnology Manufacturing, Production and Biotechnology Program Committee (NMPB-PC) and High Level Group on Nanoscience and Nanotechnologies; member of Scientific Board for European Coordinated Research on Challenges in Information and Communication Sciences & Technologies; member of European Technology Integrating and Innovation Platform on Nanotechnology – NanoFutures. He is a member of the board at BIED (Knowledge Economy Association) and at İstanbul Technical University Electronics Technologies Development Foundation. He is currently acting as the  director of the Center for Targeted Therapy Technologies.
