The EAN–EFNR guideline provides updated, evidence-based recommendations on pharmacological support during early motor rehabilitation after acute ischemic stroke. Using the GRADE methodology, it integrates data from multiple meta-analyses evaluating motor, neurological, and functional outcomes at 30 and 90 days.
Findings support early, multimodal, and individualized rehabilitation, where selected pharmacological agents safely enhance recovery when combined with structured therapy. The guideline establishes a new standard for integrating neuroprotection and neurorecovery in post-stroke care.
Learning objectives
- Summarize key updates from the EAN–EFNR guideline.
