Bachelor student (neuro)biology
Birgit Peters
Summary
I am Birgit, a second year bachelor Biology student, who loves to learn about the brain. I am working towards becoming a neuroscientist. I am passionate about music and neurocomputation and want to combine these two together to find out more about how music is perceived in the brain.
Education
BA, Biology with a specialisation in Neurobiology, Radboud University

I am currently in my second year of the bachelor Biology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. In this year, we get the opportunity to specialize in an area of our interest by choosing your own curriculum. I have the pleasure to now fully dedicate my learning trajectory towards neuroscience. I addition to this, I am also taking additional courses in neurophysics and neuropsychology to challenge myself and get a stronger foundation in neuroscience.

One of my main strengths is curiosity. I am always eager to learn and explore subjects that fascinate me.  I am passionate about growing in all areas of my life: I am an avid reader, a quick learner and looking forward to broadening my knowledge about the world. One of my other strengths is observing. Whether it is listening to a person or looking at microscopic specimens, I often notice very minute details while also overseeing the bigger picture. Other people have also described me as driven, motivated and dedicated to my goals.

I am especially interested in neurocomputational techniques as this is the main method I want to specialize in. However, I am still learning about a lot of different aspects within neuroscience with eager curiosity and I would love to explore other ideas as well.
