This course will provide up-to-date insights into the neurobiological basis of language. The course will be given by internationally leading researchers in the field. Students will learn how state-of-the-art methods and approaches are currently being applied, and what are the next big questions for the field.
Students will get a thorough overview of the neural processes involved in language comprehension and production. We will see how insights from cognitive neuroscience can inform psycholinguistic models and vice versa. Topics covered include (among others): Neural basis of semantics; Pragmatics and the brain; Cognitive neuroscience models of language; Neural insights into prediction in language. Part of the course consists of discussion sessions.
