NEUROFUND
About

NEUROFUND is Neurotech Alliance’s joint Technology Transfer Services body that institutionalizes the collaboration and coordination across TTO’s of alliance partners. NEUROFUND supports regional as well as Neurotech Alliance wide academia-business collaborations. The Neurotechnology Innovation Detection Scheme outcomes and NeurotechRI Shared Technology Transfer Strategy Action Plan are being operationalized jointly with NEUROFUND.

NEUROFUND standard operational procedures include an online meeting of members once in every three months with a standard agenda that can be extended as needed:

  • Updates on NeurotechEU partner universities’ university-industry collaboration platforms.

  • Updates on NeurotechEU partner universities’ corporate projects.

  • Updates on NeurotechEU partner universities’ targeted translational innovation development plans in relation to the 8 dimensions of neurotechnology.

  • Discussion of new regional R&D opportunities in relation to the 8 dimensions of neurotechnology and possible collaboration prospects.

  • Invitation of educational program developers of NeurotechEU to the meetings and discussions of funding possibilities to support R&D focused education and mobility of staff and students.

  • Building a data bank of regional funding possibilities (funding institutions, regional development agencies, disease support organizations, ministries, municipalities, NGO’s, industrial clusters, techno-parks, incubation centers and companies) and matching fund opportunities from each NeurotechEU partner universities’ ecosystem and updating this regularly.

Additionally, NEUROFUND members are members of Common Policies and Strategy Development actions in NeurotechEU and are invited to monthly work group meetings. They provide feedback for actions taken towards synergy building across ecosystem members. Locally in their regions, they provide links for member universities to regional stakeholders for characterizing regional SWOTs, public engagement, and policy makers (to happen in the longer-term) for the Alliance to shape regional evidence-based priority settings in neurotechnologies and actions that will serve the society as well as sustainable regional development.

NEUROFUND also supports funding and sustainability of the Neurotech Alliance. NEUROFUND’s current inventory for regional funding/development institutions:
